As Seen on Snapchat
This year I have been following the happenings and shows of New York Fashion Week on Snapchat, and absolutely love the experience! It really feels like being there, and my go-to account for the best overview of those stunning looks is definitely Moda Operandi, which is my favourite fashion website when it comes to best admire great designs. (Snapchat: modaoperandi).
One interesting thing I noticed, the live snaps really brought to life the collection: when looking at pictures of the collections, the looks seemed much more uninteresting than what they actually are. What really stands out this season? The shoes. So many ladylike models, with pointy toes.
Out of the Snaps I have seen and the full reviews and collection pictures on Business of Fashion and Vogue, here is what has caught my eye so far when it comes to my favorite Fall 2016 Ready To Wear collections. Some names are even completely new to me, will keep on adding as I discover more. A bigger selection of collection pictures on my Tumblr , click on the links for full collection and reviews on Vogue.
Ladylike chic. The shoes. Florals and plaids. Volumes and oversized feel.
Winter whites and fur glamorous yet relaxed pairing. The shoes, the shoes, the shoes. Can we please talk about the shoes?
The usual VB sleek elegance, this time tailored and with a spin. The best of tweeds and knits.
Wow. The structured black outfits with the bright red lip. Satin slip-ons. The beiges, the whites and then the flaming red. One can only wish to need such cool evening wear.
Turtlenecks and her signature cozy chic fur knits (Kendall Jenner favourites) , and then an explosion of embroidery and glittery, glamourous outfits for the best soirées ever. The best is the mix as in the look above.
Lace and embroidery for the win, perfectly, geometrically, weaved into architectural silhouettes. Cool patterns and colours, bringing back royal blue, winter white and then the more paired down beiges and blacks.
Princess glam look with Lily Aldridge! 3D embroideries.Futuristic elegance.
Royal blue triumph!
Just so elegant. And here again pointed toes! Relaxed evening clothing rather than the famous gowns and so much tailoring.
Preppy chic with a twist, with some touches of flapper and ostrich plumes patterns, as in put a feather on it. Quote from Kors himself: “I like bare legs in winter; I like night for day. I like Alexa Chung mixing with Nan Kempner. It’s about the interesting mix.”
Tweedy days and regal, ruffled, black velvet nights, with all the range of fall tones and the signature Ralph Lauren hunting flair.
